Partially openwork dial
The C by Romain Gauthier Carbonium® Edition features a sapphire dial that is partially open to the seconds mechanism and escapement line.
The seconds wheel is the main feature of this opening. In addition to its mechanical aspect, this wheel is an aesthetic symbol unique to the brand.
The partial opening of the dial also reveals the escapement line assembly with the escapement wheel, balance and its pallet. A decorative bridge on the lower part of the dial has been added, featuring a Carbonium® insert, reinforcing the DNA of this assertive timepiece.

Three-dimensional hands, indices and numerals filled with Super-LuminNova
The hands are made from Grade 5 titanium and filled with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. The numerals and applied hour markers made entirely of Super-Luminova, improving visibility and reinforcing the modern feel of this timepiece.

The seconds dial stars
Rather than a series of enclosed circles, the open, airy dial is made of part orthogonal lines forming vanishing points with the axes of the hands, reinforcing the notion of continuity. Case
The Carbonium® bezel is first machined into a round shape featuring a circular bevel before six straight sides are cut into it to create 6 facets. These matte and satin finishes absorb light and add even more character to this timepiece. The same facetted design is replicated around the sapphire crystal on the back of the watch.

Movement
Made from Grade 5 Titanium, and insipred by the finger bridges style, the design of the movement follows the watchmaking history of the Vallée de Joux, with a modern approach, reflecting Romain’s vision of the evolution of tradition.

Contrasting tones and textures
Main bridges feature a variety of hand-finishing techniques carried out in-house. The outer edges of each bridge all feature a double bevel, while the flat bridge surfaces and rubies are each framed by a raised border that has been straight-grained.

Carbonium® inserts
Inside the bridge borders, Carbonium® inserts have been placed, reinforcing the character of the piece on the back of the movement and harmonizing the timepiece as a whole.

Rubber strap and Carbonium® pin buckle
The rubber strap with Carbonium® pin buckle follows the form of the angular lugs and rounded caseband so it appears as a continuous, organic extension of the case. The strap colors can be matched to the colors of the indices, allowing each owner to personalize their timepiece or play with refined contrasts. This meticulous attention to chromatic harmony extends to the smallest details: the “GR” logo is finely engraved inside the buckle and on the crown.
