Maintenance and servicing
Your Romain Gauthier timepiece has been designed, developed and manufactured to the very highest standards.
It is resistant to temperature variations, dust and moisture and, with regular maintenance, should provide many decades of pleasure.
The movement powering your Romain Gauthier timepiece is a highly tuned, high-precision machine and, like all machines, requires regular maintenance to ensure a long life.
Just as you would take your car in for a service after a certain number of miles on the clock, we recommend sending your Romain Gauthier timepiece back to Manufacture Romain Gauthier for service at least once every three years.
Your nearest Romain Gauthier authorised retailer can also help you to do this.
When returning your watch to the Manufacture be sure to pack it securely.
For all timepieces with a leather strap, we will ask you to send the watch without the strap.

Lors d'un service, votre montre est confiée à l'horloger qui l'a assemblée et réglée à l'origine, garantissant ainsi une parfaite continuité du savoir-faire et de la qualité.
Le service comprend le démontage soigneux du mouvement hors de son boîtier, le désassemblage complet du mouvement, le contrôle et le nettoyage de chacun de ses composants, ainsi que l'application de nouveaux lubrifiants aux points de friction.
Les aiguilles sont déposées puis polies. Les glaces saphir côté cadran et côté fond sont retirées et soigneusement nettoyées. Le bracelet est remis en état ou remplacé si nécessaire, tandis que la boucle ardillon Romain Gauthier est repolie.
Le mouvement est ensuite réemboîté dans son boîtier repoli. Une série complète de contrôles, identique à celle effectuée sur une montre neuve, est alors réalisée. Elle comprend notamment les tests et le réglage du mouvement, le contrôle du mécanisme de remontage ainsi que les essais d'étanchéité.
Si nécessaire, les joints d'étanchéité sont remplacés. Cette opération est particulièrement recommandée lorsque la montre est portée régulièrement dans un environnement chaud et humide.
