Meet the artisans
who make our timepieces
Our ability to create exceptional timepieces is thanks to the talented team of component production and watchmaking specialists that Romain has put together at Manufacture Romain Gauthier in Le Sentier, Switzerland.
Each member brings a unique savoir-faire to the creative process and each leaves their own signature on the finished timepiece.
CREATING WITH A NO-COMPROMISE APPROACH
First and foremost, the beginning of a timepiece is written through an idea, an inspiration, a quest that only Romain Gauthier himself can truly give meaning to. Without compromise, he creates—guided by an unwavering pursuit of excellence—where every line, every component, and every detail serves a purpose.
FROM RAW MATERIAL TO COMPONENT
Creating components lies at the very heart of the our Manufacture. Since 2014, we have achieved full autonomy in the production of our own movements, and we have turned this expertise into a key strength in crafting our timepieces.
REFINEMENT AT THE SMALLEST SCALE
Even the tiniest components of a movement are treated as works of art. Each wheel, pivot, and pinion, though almost invisible to the naked eye, receives the same meticulous attention as the most prominent elements of the timepiece. Techniques such as perlage, circular graining, and snailing demand more than precision.
THE ART OF HAND-BEVELLING
Hand-bevelling is the result of centuries of watchmaking tradition. The subtle play of light along the hand-finished edges reflects not just skill, but a living heritage.
This craftsmanship transforms each component into a testament to the art and history of haute horlogerie.
GRAND FEU ENAMEL DIALS
Grand Feu enamel dials embody a rare vision of time — one where material, light, and the artisan’s hand converge to create the timeless. Rooted in centuries-old traditions, this demanding craft transforms each dial into a unique work of art, shaped by fire and guided by an uncompromising pursuit of beauty.
A COMPLETE WATCHMAKER’S WORK
Each movement is painstakingly assembled and regulated from A to Z by the same watchmaker. Our watchmakers master the full gamut of horological skills, including counting the balance spring and heat-bluing the hands.
Controlling quality and precision
Throughout the entire process, stringent quality control checks are carried out at every stage, no detail is overlooked. Each component is scrutinized for precision, alignment, and perfect finishing.
At the culmination of this meticulous process, Romain personally inspects every completed timepiece, examining the finest details with an expert eye. This rigorous final inspection ensures that each timepiece meets the highest standards of reliability, performance, and aesthetic perfection — a testament to both human skill and the Manufacture’s uncompromising dedication to excellence.
