Insight Micro-Rotor Squelette Special Order in 950 platinum
MON00307

Grand Feu enamel dial
On a white gold base, the dial is traditionally enamelled in-house, with water and a brush, using the Grand Feu firing technique - between 780 and 840°C.
On this model, the enamel is polished until it has a smooth, shiny surface, like a mirror.

Skeletonized bridges and maintplate in natural titanium
By opening up and stripping down his high-end, time-only automatic calibre, Romain has created a truly contemporary skeleton watch that is a technical and artistic tour de force. Not only do the skeletonised, ultra-light natural titanium bridges and mainplate help to reveal the mesmerising mechanics of the in-house movement, they also provide the perfect platform for the Romain Gauthier anglage specialists to demonstrate their immense skills.

22k gold bidirectional micro-rotor
No matter which direction the micro-rotor oscillates, it provides consistent power that allows the movement to have the constant force necessary for an 80-hour power reserve.

Case
The 39.5mm diameter of the three-part case – caseband, bezel and back – makes Insight Micro-Rotor a perfect fit for both male and female wrists. The crown is placed at 2 o’clock to free up space for wrist movement. The soldered lugs gracefully meet with the caseband. And the bevel in the front sapphire crystal is another subtle design touch that helps to make Insight Micro-Rotor a horological tour de force.

The art of hand-finishing
This skeletonised movement calls on a particular savoir-faire for which Romain and his team have garnered plenty of plaudits since the brand was founded in 2005: anglage, or the art of bevelling, softening, smoothing and polishing components by hand. For each Insight Micro-Rotor Squelette movement features as many as 250 hours devoted to anglage alone, that’s to say the bevelling, softening, smoothing and polishing by hand of the bridges and mainplate, in an extraordinary demonstration of watchmaking artistry.

Movement
The Insight Micro-Rotor’s movement has been designed to be highly visible so the viewer can gain an instant appreciation of the spectacular mechanics and fine finishing, giving rise to the name “Insight”.
Designing and building a movement that boasts a bidirectional micro-rotor is in keeping with Gauthier’s haute horlogerie ethos of developing daring, in-house movements from scratch, as well as with his quest to create atypical, ultra-efficient winding mechanisms.
